MiniChamp, what's that...?

The idea behind MiniChamp is:
To allow consumers to grow their own mushrooms at home. Our customers therefore always have access to fresh mushrooms but also gain knowledge about their cultivation. Fungi in general are a healthy food source and various varieties can be used as a meat substitute, particularly the Shiitake, Oyster Mushrooms and the Stropharia. For all these types there are many different methods of cooking and the internet provides is a good source of interesting recipes. On our products page you can find links to some of these.

How does it work...?

For the cultivation of Fungi you need a good nutrient base. For mushrooms this is a mix of straw and horse-manure based-fertilizer. To make this suitable for cultivation a complex process is needed to ensure the mix has the correct combination of components. At the end of this process which involves a lot of heating you are left with compost which is completely natural and free of pests and diseases. This compost is very similar to that found on forest floors.

This process is carried out for Minichamp Home Cultivation by specialist companies who provide a consistently top quality product. Our own quality control system ensures good, healthy compost ideal for home cultivation. Minichamp Home Cultivation always select the best constituents to allow your home cultivation to be trouble free. For Mushrooms, Shiitake and Oyster Mushrooms this means sawdust or straw. No pesticides are used during the preparation of the composts to further ensure that you can enjoy a healthy meal from your self cultivated, Minchamp Home Cultivation mushrooms.
